Amilodipine can cause slight increase in heart rate. If it is going above 100 then it is better to change the medication. Now a days there are a lot of tablets available and doctors can change medications to suit individual patients. Mild swelling of lower limbs is another side effect of amilodipine occurring in some patients.
So go back to your doctor. Let him see you and change treatment if he thinks it is necessary. If your thyroid function test was not done before you can ask your doctor to do it if possible. It is a simple blood test. Sometimes people with thyroid problems can have fast heart beats. Don't worry. You will be fine. But don't stop the present medication till you see your doctor. Amilodipine is generally a good drug with only minor side effects.-chandrasekharam bShare your answer?Leave your own answer in the comments!symptoms - What to Know About Hypertension.
