If one doctor loses malpractice lawsuit, why do ALL doctors begin to charge more? Because their insurance rates go up too........Geez this isn't rocket science!Their malpractice insurance premiums rise. For a typical physician, malpractice insurance is the second biggest office expense, ahead of rent and supplies, and second only to staff salaries.NeoNerdThey don't. You really should get out of your parents basement more often.

It's called business. When one doctor is sued, the rest know it's coming so they have to keep up.

Doctors make MILLIONS each year but only pull home around $ 300k after their insurance bill hits them.

Well...it could really depend. If the doctor was forced out of medicine all together because of the lawsuit....that would reduce supply and a reduction in supply increases price according to the supply and demand model.

Its like a group issued insurance policy.Like GEICO .Once one has to paid out then premiums go up for all of them.Lawyers have it also !
